News and documentary workshop prepares attendees to report and produce short form and long form journalism for traditional and non-traditional media. From the first classes, students are on the streets filming, recording, photographing and editing. Students focus not only on the story but the art of storytelling. Our goal is to have students skilled in both form and content, able to tell a story by effectively using all aspects of the medium. The reporting class begins with the basics of short form stories and a variety of formats and genres. After the progression of reporting classes, the curriculum culminates with each attendee producing a 30 minute documentary.

Art
Neptune Brigade's Art & Design program introduces participants to a passionate community of fellow creators. Whether you're looking for an art class that will teach you new techniques, or interested in a workshop that will help you perfect methods you've already tried, the opportunities for artistic exploration are endless. Classes for children, teens and adults are taught by professional artists who provide individual instruction in small group settings.
Educational (5-13 years old)
Neptune Brigade sponsors writing workshops (in collaboration with local educational institutions and the college circuit) for younger audiences, starting from kindergarten.
While these events are specially designed for their educational value, the student's artistic work is frequently a stepping-stone for their participation in our artistic and cultural association.
Check our Educational calendar for more events. Neptune Brigade also send teaching artists to visit schools for residencies.
